A Plastic Free Planet Is Possible!

A Lobbyist and a Product Designer Walk into a Bar
– The Plaxin Story

"There is no planet B!" This slogan resonated with us after meeting at a conference organised by the then Swedish Minister for the Environment, Åsa Romson, in the spring of 2015. After leaving the conference, Ms. Romson´s words remained the theme of our conversation. Having talked the afternoon away and pondered environmental issues and possible solutions to the climate crises, we agreed that plastic was the number one problem on our long list of issues that needed to be fixed. We asked ourselves: Who could find, develop and market an alternative material? The sun was setting and as the guests were politely being asked to move to the elevators and leave the rooftop bar we came to the obvious conclusion, that we would have to effect the change. After all, we had many years of combined experience in industrial design and  international business. By the end of that summer we set up shop in an industrial compound in Stockholm´s outskirts and opened up our first office. Nearly three years later we are well funded, waiting for our patent and ready to start production of Plaxin, a material which brings hope to Earth and all of its inhabitants.

About Plaxin AB

In 2015 the first patent was approved for our organic mixer. In 2016 we got seed funding from VCS Environmental allowing us to establish our first dedicated laboratory. In 2017 we were invited to the Pacific ocean in person as part of https://theoceancleanup.com/ led by Plaxin AB friend and inspiration Boyan Slat. In 2018 we visited Frontiers’ HQ and established working relations to develop our first commercially viable bioplastic , Plaxin 01. In 2019 New Life Ventures provided series B funding to further develop our production cycle.
